Athenaeum SCIS download “missing” information - or not?

Athenaeum users who subscribe to Curriculum Corp’s SCIS service may have noticed that some of the recent changes implemented in SCISWeb have not flowed through to Athenaeum. For example, if you are using the SCISWeb OPAC, you may see a screen like the following: (don’t worry about the content, rather look at the amount of content) However, […]

SCISWeb, MARC and Images

Last year, I recorded a session where we ran through uploading ISBNs in bulk to SCISWeb, then importing the resulting MARC data and book cover images into Athenaeum Pro. Highlights are shown on this YouTube page: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aip5NVlX8pE&hd=1 If your network has trouble displaying “high definition” YouTube videos, drop the quality back to 480p.

Import a folder of images

Quick Movie of Processing MARC records

For this reason, you should never back-up files that are in use, either manually or with back up software, because two things can happen during […]

Pro 7.6 Notes document the Integrated MARC decoder

Just a quick note for those who have recently updated to Athenaeum Pro 7.6. The MARC decoder was integrated recently, giving you the choice of using the stand-alone tool or the integrated MARC decoder. Documentation for the integrated MARC decoder starts on page 32 of the Pro 7.6 notes which can be downloaded from here:

Import MARC movie - Express 8.5

Importing MARC data has been simplified with Athenaeum Express 8.5v3. While this is described in the User Guide, sometimes a visual crystallises things a little. Download a low resolution movie here: importmarcexpress85low.mov If you have broadband, then you might want to get the larger, higher quality version here: importmarcexpress_85.mov
